Crystal Vision at Broadcast Video Expo 2009 (D64)
 

Crystal Vision will be showing its picture storage and 3GHz products at the UK's broadcast exhibition, Broadcast Video Expo 2009, which takes place at Earls Court 2 in London between 17th and 19th February. Now shipping, Picturestore makes its UK show debut at Broadcast Video Expo with four technically-innovative picture storage products which combine the different strengths of solid-state fast reading and writing DRAM and Flash permanent memory. Crystal Vision introduces an HD synchroniser for engineers working with Dolby E
 

SYNNER-E HD has been designed to simplify system designs for those working in Dolby E environments. Shipping now, SYNNER-E HD will save engineers money and rack space by combining a video synchroniser, tracking audio delay, embedder, de-embedder and audio processor along with advanced handling of Dolby E and delay compensation on one 100mm x 266mm board. TVNZ uses Crystal Vision embedders for Olympic broadcasts to 104 countries
 

New Zealand broadcaster TVNZ used 16 of Crystal Vision's TANDEM HD-21 High Definition audio embedders/de-embedders to add commentary to more than 800 hours of coverage from the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, with the broadcasts distributed to 104 countries around the world and watched by more New Zealanders than any other television event. Clip N Key makes live debut with ITV's UEFA Champions League football broadcast
 

UK sports graphics specialist Alston Elliot is the first company to use Crystal Vision's Clip N Key. The clip and sting store, which allows a special clip to be played repeatedly, made its live debut on 30th September with ITV's coverage of the Manchester United vs Aalborg UEFA Champions League game, where it was used to replay the same wipe on the half-time action replays. Crystal Vision releases first 3G products
 

Crystal Vision is pleased to announce that it is developing a full range of 3G HD products that can be housed in the normal frames alongside any other board from the range. Crystal Vision has chosen distribution amplifiers for its very first 3GHz products, with the 3GDA105N and 3GDA111N available now and providing economical distribution of 3G HD, HD or SDI. 165 Crystal Vision interface boards have been used by BBC Studios, part of BBC Resources Ltd., a wholly owned commercial subsidiary of the BBC, for the HD upgrade of its Studio Four at BBC Television Centre in London. (23/09/08)


New features for Crystal Vision's best-selling aspect ratio converter
 

Crystal Vision has added three new features to its popular 10 bit aspect ratio converter, the ARC-10MC. Lime Pictures selects Crystal Vision to help "Hollyoaks" go HD
 

UK production company Lime Pictures has chosen 91 Crystal Vision interface boards for its major upgrade to HD, which includes a complete new High Definition infrastructure as well as new production galleries and edit suites. The upgrade was triggered by the decision to begin making the company's popular drama series "Hollyoaks" in High Definition for transmission on 4HD - Channel 4's new HD service which is a simulcast of the UK broadcaster's core schedule and is initially available on the Sky satellite platform. Michael Hall appointed as Crystal Vision's first Regional Sales Manager
 

Michael Hall has joined Crystal Vision as Regional Sales Manager. This new international sales role was created to further increase the volume of worldwide sales and is a key part of Crystal Vision's extensive growth strategy for 2008. Joining the company in early April where he helped Crystal Vision achieve its most successful NAB, Michael was the perfect candidate for this position with his international sales experience and thorough knowledge of the broadcast market and its products. NAB2008 gave Crystal Vision its most successful show to date, with visitors flocking to Booth N1311 to see the company's new area of speciality - the Picturestore range of HD/SD products based on solid-state fast-writing DRAM and permanent Flash picture storage. The Picturestore product that most people came to see in Las Vegas was Crystal Vision's sophisticated modular logo keyer, MultiLogo - which earns its popularity through a combination of size, graphics storage space and keying features. Crystal Vision releases most flexible A to D converters yet
 

New from Crystal Vision are two 12 bit decoding converters able to bring any analogue sources into a digital environment. Used with sources generated by cameras, tape machines, DVD players or graphics generators, the flexible ADDEC-210 and ADDEC-310 offer the best performance yet and can convert different analogue signals (PAL/NTSC composite, Y/C, YUV and RGB) to SDI and synchronise them too - making them ideal for multiple applications and resulting in reductions in both cost and rack space. No price increase as Crystal Vision's fibre goes HD
 

Crystal Vision has released its first High Definition fibre optic transmitter and receiver - at the same price as its earlier Standard Definition versions. The FTX HD transmitter and FRX HD receiver together provide a robust transport medium to transmit either High Definition or Standard Definition signals over large distances. (06/03/08)


Stewart McGhie's promotion to Head of Sales kick starts Crystal Vision's search for additional sales manager
 

Crystal Vision has appointed its first Head of Sales following the promotion of the company's Technical Sales Manager Stewart McGhie to this new strategic management position. Crystal Vision is focused on extensive growth in 2008 through the introduction of a new product line combined with a higher market share for its existing products, and Stewart's first task will be to further increase the amount of non-domestic sales through the recruitment of an additional salesman for international territories. As well as the latest technology in chroma keying and signal processing, Booth N1311 at NAB2008 will see the launch of Crystal Vision's new area of speciality - the Picturestore range of products based on solid state picture storage combined with optional keying and Flash permanent storage. Dolby E users benefit from Crystal Vision's HD embedder/de-embedder upgrade
 

Crystal Vision has added new features to its High Definition audio embedder/de-embedder to benefit Dolby E users. The original TANDEM HD-20 has evolved into TANDEM HD-21, and now gives the engineer the option to delay the video by a frame to compensate for the delay created by converting to or from Dolby E.
